Korean People's Army, Reliable Pillar of Songun Revolution

With the Day of Songun (August 25), the Korean people are recollecting with deep emotion the feats of leader Kim Jong Il who steered the socialist cause to victory by putting forward the Korean People's Army (KPA) as the most reliable pillar of the revolution.

He defined the truth of the Songun (military first) that the army precisely means the party, state and people and made his ceaseless inspection of KPA units to develop it into the most powerful army and the first standard-bearer of the Songun revolution.

Visiting posts, he showed deep trust and loving care for the soldiers, calling them his sons and daughters and comrades of the Songun revolution who fight on the same trench. Under his leadership, the KPA has grown up to be the powerful revolutionary Paektusan army.

It downed a spy helicopter of the U.S. imperialist aggressor forces which infiltrated into the territorial sky over the DPRK as a shot, turned Yonphyong Island, a base for provocation, to pieces and shattered many other military provocations of the enemies.

The KPA made a breakthrough on major fronts for building a powerful nation under the slogan "Let the People's Army take charge of both national defense and socialist construction!", ushering in great prosperity of Songun Korea.

In order to protect the people's happiness under the leadership of respected Supreme Commander Kim Jong Un, it is victoriously advancing the cause of building a socialist power while mercilessly smashing the harsh sanctions and reckless war hysterics of the U.S. imperialists.
