Great Devotion for People's Wellbeing

On the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the demise of leader Kim Jong Il (Dec.17,2011), all people in the DPRK recall with deep emotion the undying feats he performed for the prosperity of the country and wellbeing of people.

In his lifetime, he visited more than 14,290 units across the country, covering the distance of 670,000 kilometers.

On March 20, Juche 85 (1996), he drove a car over 400 kilometers for the inspection of the eastern frontline units of the Korean People's Army (KPA).

Since he inspected the Tabaksol (young pine trees) Post of the KPA on January 1, Juche 84 (1995), he made a long journey for Songun leadership covering more than 353,576 kilometers till the last moments of his life.

For the last three years of his great life, he gave field guidance to nearly 1,000 units.

In December 2011 when the country saw the heaviest snowfall in 60 years, he inspected different units in South Hamgyong Province to give highly important instructions to improve the provincial work.

The next legs of his journey were military units, the Hana Musical Information Center, the Kwangbok Area Supermarket and others.

Even in the evening of December 16, 2011, one day before his demise, he took measures for the supply of fish to Pyongyang citizens before taking a train to continue his inspection tour.

Indeed, the whole life of Kim Jong Il was the one for the country and its people.
