Tombstone of King Kwanggaetho

 

It was erected in 414 at the Tomb of King Kwanggaetho, the 24th king of Koguryo, in praise of his exploits.

It stands in Jian of Jilin Province, China.

It is 6.34m high and its four faces are engraved with about 1 800 characters, which serve as important materials for the study of the period of the Three Kingdoms-Koguryo, Paekje and Silla.

It is one of the biggest among the world’s old tombstones that remain up to now.
