Peace, Prosperity, Reunification Demanded by S. Korean Young People

The Youth and Students Headquarters of the South Side Committee for Implementing June 15 Joint Declaration held a press conference in Seoul on January 18 to express the will to turn out in the struggle for peace, prosperity and reunification on the Korean peninsula this year, according to the south Korean online paper Jaju Sibo.

A resolution of the headquarters was read out.

It said that youth and students would hold fast to and implement the south-north declarations, the milestone of reunification, and resolutely fight against any forces interrupting their implementation, though deep-rooted evil forces keen on national division are disturbing reconciliation and inciting discord between the south and the north to block the improvement of their relations.

It stressed that the Korean nation should pioneer its destiny by itself and only national independence and self-determination can bring peace, prosperity and reunification on this land.
