U.S. Denounced for Checking Improvement of Inter-Korean Relations

South Korean organizations including the South Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification and the People's Democratic Party held a rally outside the U.S. embassy in Seoul on December 15 to denounce the U.S. for disturbing the efforts for implementing the north-south joint declaration and preserving peace of the Korean peninsula.

Speakers there criticized the U.S. for lording it over Koreans to interfere in the internal affairs of the Korean nation.

They said the U.S. has called for additional sanctions and pressure upon the north under the pretext of "human rights problem in the north", far from lifting sanctions against it.

They stated that if the situation on the Korean peninsula worsens again due to the U.S., it should be held accountable for it.

Noting that the historic Panmunjom Declaration is a landmark for peace, prosperity and reunification, they called for unity to achieve reunification.
