Juche-oriented Children's Movement Glorifies under Care of Peerlessly Great Men

June 6 is a significant day when the Korean Children's Union (KCU), a mass political organization of schoolchildren, was founded in the DPRK.

The great Generalissimo Kim Il Sung, who embarked on the road of revolution in his early years, formed the Saenal Children's Union on December 15, Juche 15 (1926), thus opening up the origin of the Korean children's movement. And he founded the KCU on June 6, 1946 on the basis of the brilliant revolutionary traditions of the Saenal Children's Union and the anti-Japanese children's corps after the national liberation.

Since its founding, the KCU members have performed brilliant feats and left patriotic traces in laying the foundation of a new, democratic Korea, defending their native lands against the U.S. imperialist aggressors during the Fatherland Liberation War (1950-1953) and contributing to the socialist construction and the country's economic life.

The great Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il instituted a new slogan of the KCU in accordance with the advance of the Korean revolution and published immortal works to indicate the tasks and ways for improving the work of the KCU and further developing the Korean children's movement.

Today the KCU is greeting a new heyday of its development as it holds in high esteem the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un who is steadfastly carrying forward the idea of the Juche-oriented children's movement of the great Generalissimos.

The respected fatherly Marshal saw to it that a wide gate to the universal 12-year compulsory education was opened, schoolchildren's palaces, schoolchildren's halls and children's camps were splendidly built and the KCU members grow to be competent revolutionary talents equipped with knowledge, morality and good health.

He made sure that the founding anniversary of the KCU was celebrated with splendor, and published immortal works to indicate the orientation and ways for bringing about a fresh turn in the Korean children's movement.

Under the loving care of Kim Jong Un who sets the work for the younger generation as the most important affair of the Party and the state, the KCU members are firmly preparing themselves to be true sons and daughters and young revolutionaries of the socialist country.
