Underwater Launching Drill of Strategic Cruise Missiles Conducted

An underwater launching drill of strategic cruise missiles was conducted at dawn on March 12.

The submarine “8.24 Yongung” launched two strategic cruise missiles in the water off Kyongpho Bay on the East Sea of Korea.

The drill confirmed the reliability of the weapon system and examined the underwater-to-surface attack operations of submarine units that constitute another major force of the DPRK’s nuclear deterrent.

The drill successfully achieved its object.

The two strategic cruise missiles precisely hit the preset target on the East Sea of Korea after travelling the 1 500-km-long eight-shaped flight orbits for 7 563s to 7 575s.

The Central Military Commission of the Workers’ Party of Korea expressed satisfaction over the results of the drill.

The drill clearly expressed the invariable stand of the Korean People’s Army on persistently controlling by dint of overwhelming powerful forces the present situation in which the US imperialists and the south Korean puppet forces are getting evermore undisguised in their anti-DPRK military manoeuvres, and verified the regular operation posture of the nuclear war deterrence means in different spaces.
