To Provide Children with Dairy Products

Children of nurseries and kindergartens in the DPRK grow up healthily, taking dairy products provided by the state.

The dairy products are associated with the loving care of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, for the rising generations.

In June last year, a consultative meeting of senior officials of the WPK Central Committee and provincial Party committees was held in the presence of the General Secretary.

At the meeting Kim Jong Un expressed his determination to provide children with dairy products, noting that the periods of nursery and kindergarten are of great importance in their growth and that it is necessary to properly control nutrition administration in their infancy but it is all the more important to do it particularly in their weaning period at nursery as well as in the days at kindergarten.

Improving children’s nutrition was a top priority issue for him which he could not neglect even a moment.

The Third Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK held some days after the consultative meeting discussed the issue of improving and intensifying the Party’s childcare policy.

At the meeting Kim Jong Un stressed that there is no more important revolutionary work than the work of bringing up children, the future of the country, to be strong and sound and that it is the most important policy and the greatest cherished desire of the Party and the state to provide more improved conditions of bringing them up even at the cost of huge sums of money.

He also paid close attention to improving the taste of dairy products.

On September 15 last year, he tasted the milk powder produced for trial in Pyongyang. And he earnestly asked a leading official of the Pyongyang Municipal Committee of the WPK over the phone to produce milk powder well without even a little defect as it was for children.

Later when he met senior officials of the Party and the government, he pointed out the defects of milk powder he had tasted and stressed the need to produce quality dairy products with a mind of feeding them to one’s own children.

One November day last year, he oversaw another trial milk powder from officials and researchers in Pyongyang.

He was very satisfied as it was good with the taste peculiar to goat milk. And he said that the goat milk powder could make the grade if children liked it.

When officials of the Pyongyang Municipal Committee of the WPK and researchers in the foodstuff sector visited nurseries and kindergartens in the city, all the children drank milk of new powder with relish.

Medical workers in charge of nurseries and kindergartens tasted it and said that it was excellent in taste and flavour.
