Joint Performance Highlights 90th Founding Anniversary of KPRA
A splendid art performance was given to celebrate the 90th founding anniversary of the Korean People’s Revolutionary Army in Pyongyang on April 26.
The joint performance by the State Merited Chorus and the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Ministry of National Defence was enjoyed by the participants in the military parade and the celebrations marking the 90th founding anniversary of the KPRA.
Choe Ryong Hae and Kim Tok Hun, members of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, and Ri Il Hwan, Kim Jae Ryong, Kim Yong Chol, Jong Kyong Thaek, Pak Jong Gun and O Il Jong also watched the performance.
Put on the stage were the hymns praising the leaders and the revolutionary army songs that resounded in the 90-year-long militant course of the revolutionary armed forces which have devotedly defended the bloodline of the Korean revolution and the idea and cause of the WPK.
After the playing of the national anthem of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, the performance started with male trio and male chorus “Cantata to Marshal
Through the immortal revolutionary hymn “Star of Korea” and such famous songs as “Guerrilla March” and “Song of the Red Flag”, they sang highly of the exploits of the forerunners who established the traditions of great unity and invincibility by holding aloft the banner of devotedly defending the leader for the first time in the glorious history of the Korean revolution.
They sang of the proud feats of the Korean People’s Army that has remained faithful to its sacred mission of defending the security, dignity and happiness of the country and the people by braving all the challenges with absolute confidence in its cause.
Military songs composed in the new century of the Juche era revved up the atmosphere of the performance as they inspired the audience’s boundless pride in the revolutionary armed forces which have supported the DPRK, a powerful country, with the elite military power under the guidance of the great Party.
Watching the performance, the audience hardened their conviction that the cause of Korean-style socialism will emerge victorious forever as the elite army always stands in the van of the revolution, embodying the idea and will of the great Party Central Committee and representing the power of the country and the people.
The performance drew to a close with orchestral music and song We’ll Travel One Road Forever.
