"Song of General Kim Il Sung", Theme Song of April Spring Friendship Art Festival

Pyongyang, April 18 (KCNA) -- The "Song of General Kim Il Sung" has been sung by many artistes of different countries, gripping the hearts of all people since its first presentation at the April Spring Friendship Art Festival in April Juche 71 (1982) held on the occasion of the 70th birthday of President Kim Il Sung.

The 32nd April Spring Friendship Art Festival is now being televised on the central TV channel of the DPRK and posted on internet homepages such as the "Korean Art" every day.

The colorful numbers performed at a high level rev up the festive mood of the Korean people celebrating the Day of the Sun, the birth anniversary of the President.

Artistes of the Chinese Dongfang music group, a Mongolian state art troupe and the Academy Ensemble of the National Guard of the Russian Federation, in particular, gave an impressive performance of the immortal revolutionary hymn "Song of General Kim Il Sung" representing the boundless reverence of the world people for the President.

The song excellently expresses their admiration for the President who has been praised as the great saint of humankind for his great contribution to the cause of global independence.

The song will be more loudly sung as the theme song of the festival for all ages by the world progressives cherishing the ardent yearning for the great sun in their minds.

The song was written by a revolutionary poet Ri Chan in July Juche 35 (1946).
