People Are All Close to Me

The Jungphyong Vegetable Greenhouse Farm located in the northern part of Korea is a leading vegetable producer of the country, which supplies a variety of vegetables to the locals in North Hamgyong Province in all seasons.

The farm has put the production on a scientific, industrial and intensive footing. Although it was built in an area unfit for vegetable growing as it is affected by unfavourable northern oceanic climate conditions than flat areas, it now proves its worth in reality.

The credit for this must go to the devoted efforts of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un for his people.

One day in mid-July Juche 107 (2018) General Secretary Kim Jong Un of the Workers’ Party of Korea visited Jungphyong-ri, Kyongsong County, North Hamgyong Province, with a plan to have a large-scale vegetable greenhouse farm built there.

He checked the place for the farm on the spot and advanced a plan of building the farm.

Feasting his eyes on the vast area, he noted: It will be wonderful when a 100-hectare vegetable greenhouse farm is built there; the farm will fully satisfy the demands of the locals in the province; today I’m very pleased; I feel very happy when I find to do something worthwhile for the people one after another.

As it is a gigantic, large-scale construction project unprecedented in building a greenhouse farm in the country, he said, the Korean People’s Army should take full responsibility for the project and complete it at a lightning speed. He also made sure that KPA units and the construction headquarters to take charge of the project were dispatched to the area, and provided detailed guidance over the construction.

In October next year he visited the construction site of the farm which was nearing completion, and stressed the need to actively introduce advanced vegetable growing techniques and methods aimed at increasing the output and activating production so that the local people could benefit greatly from the farm.

On December 3, he attended the inaugural ceremony of the farm, and cut the ribbon.

That day he said: There are geographically far and near places but people are all close to me. I would have nothing more to desire if the vegetable greenhouse farm contributes to improving the diet of the locals in North Hamgyong Province.
