Bywords for Young Koreans

The DPRK has various bywords for young Koreans that are symbolic of their honour, pride and valiant spirit.

Point-men in the general onward march

In his message of congratulations to the participants in the Youth Day celebration conference and to other young people across the country in August Juche 101 (2012), the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said that young people are the point-men in the general onward march who vigorously advance straight ahead following the Party.

This represents his great trust in young people that they are the point-men who dynamically open up the way for the advance of socialist construction in the vanguard of the ranks by displaying the ability to charge forward forcefully and at lightning speed.

A steel-strong legion of young people

In his speech delivered at the military parade and public procession of the Pyongyang citizens held in celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Workers’ Party of Korea in October Juche 104 (2015), Kim Jong Un said: That our revolution is still advancing vigorously filled with unflagging energy and vitality without stagnation and marking time is because it has a steel-strong legion of young people who always march straight ahead, following the Party.

It represents the WPK’s idea of giving prominence to young people and his steadfast determination and will to bring about victory and prosperity in reliance upon their strength.

Heroic youth

In September Juche 104 (2015), Kim Jong Un inspected a power station under construction in the Mt Paektu area. Noting that the youth shock brigade members created a world-startling legendary tale of heroic youth, he praised them as heroes.

Later, too, he spoke highly of their exploits with such precious calls as the “culture of the heroic youth”, “giant artists of creation”, “heroes of the times” and “spirit of the Paektusan hero youth”.

Today, the young Koreans are performing miracles and feats in different parts of the country to glorify the days of their youth.
