Efforts for Modernization and Domestic Production of Machinery

Employees of the machine-building industrial bases in the DPRK have turned out in a drive to carry through the tasks set forth by Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un in his New Year Address.

From the beginning of the year, the Ministry of Machine-building Industry and its affiliated industrial establishments are concentrating their efforts on putting machinery on a modern basis and ensuring domestic production of them.

The ministry has set it as this year's goal to round off the processes for serial production of new-type tractors and vehicles, produce different kinds of high-performance and quality machinery and realize domestic production of equipment and materials.

The Taean Heavy Machine Complex is directing big efforts to developing CNC 9-axis control processing lathe, while the Taean Electric Appliances Factory is pushing ahead with the work to ensure serial production of energy-saving transformers by putting iron core cutter on a CNC basis.

The Ryongsong Machine Complex is working hard to realize domestic production of compressor accessories and establish plasma processing process.

The Ragwon Machine Complex is striving to improve the quality of one cubic-metre hydraulic excavator.
