At the Fourth Conference of KPA Artillerymen the Supreme Commander gave instructions on hitting targets at a single shot without test firing. The contest was aimed at basically improving the mode, content and method of artillery drills and kindling fiercer flames of marksmanship movement among artillerymen by appraising the firing results in the same way as when using small arms, so as to greet the WPK’s Seventh Congress with remarkable success in building up the artillery force and carry out his instructions. One gun was allotted to each participating unit.
Among the participants were the artillery sub-units of the KPA large combined units 966, 313, 567, 526, 233, 549, 324, 593 and 287.
As soon as the firing order was issued, shells reached the targets with thunderous roar, demonstrating the KPA service personnel’s determination to annihilate the enemy.

Crack shot certificates, medals and badges were awarded to the units and soldiers who proved excellent.
Noting that the participating officers and soldiers displayed a high level of marksmanship, signalling the start of the new year’s onward march,
