4th Conference of KPA Artillerymen Held
The 4th Conference of Artillerymen of the Korean People’s Army ran on December 3-4 at the April 25 House of Culture.
Present there were officers and other service personnel exemplary in the movement to win the title of marksmanship, including officers and political workers of artillery units and sub-units at different levels of the KPA, officials of military academies and members of the gun squad on Mu Islet honoured with the title of hero.
He waved in acknowledgement of the cheering participants who have made devoted efforts to round off their combat preparedness and extended warm greetings to them who have performed heroic feats in the defence of their country and socialism.
Hwang Pyong So, Pak Yong Sik, Ri Yong Gil and other commanding officers of the KPA and officers of the artillery units and sub-units exemplary in improving their fighting efficiency took the platform.
He expressed his conviction that the meeting would serve as a historic milestone in raising the fighting efficiency of the artillery and bolstering up the invincible might of Juche-based revolutionary armed forces by accomplishing its mission amid high political enthusiasm and with active involvement of all the participants, and declared the meeting open.
The meeting analysed and reviewed the achievements, experiences and lessons gained in the efforts to carry out the tasks of the artillery service advanced by the Party, and discussed measures to bring fresh changes in finishing off the combat preparedness of the artillery.
Ri Yong Gil, chief of the KPA General Staff, made a report, followed by other speeches.
Then the Supreme Commander delivered a speech.
The KPA artillerymen gathered to discuss several issues to raise the fighting efficiency of the artillery true to the Party’s idea of attaching importance to the artillery and in keeping with the requirements of the prevailing situation and modern warfare, he said, referring to some matters that arise in building up the artillery for the present.
He extended warm thanks to the participants who have made devoted efforts to bring to completion the combat preparedness of the artillery always wearing their military uniforms soaked with sweats and all other artillerymen who are reliably defending the sky, ground and sea of their country with crystal clear patriotic loyalty and pure conscience and obligation.
He expressed his conviction that the KPA artillery would perform fresh miracles and innovations in the efforts to raise fighting efficiency, always bearing in mind the Party’s belief and conviction, so as to admirably carry out their noble mission and duties entrusted upon them by the times and revolution.
When his speech was over, the conference hall resounded with the thunderous cheers of the participants for the peerlessly brilliant commander who gave important instructions on strengthening and development of the Juche-oriented artillery.
The meeting adopted a letter of pledge to the Supreme Commander.
Expressing his firm conviction that the participants would creditably perform their noble missions and duties they take on before the Party and revolution, the country and people by thoroughly implementing the spirit of the meeting, he announced the meeting closed.
He gave them his militant greetings, expressing his belief and conviction that they would take the lead in improving their combat efficiency and ushering in a golden age of military build-up, throwing themselves in the hot wind of training just as the anti-Japanese guerrillas did in Mt Paektu and in the movement to win the title of Marksmanship.
