Funeral Service for Ri Ul Sol Attended
The state funeral for Ri Ul Sol, member of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, deputy to the DPRK Supreme People’s Assembly and marshal of the Korean People’s Army, took place on November 11 in Pyongyang.
Present there were members of the state funeral committee including senior Party, state and military officials and leader of a friendly party, officials of the Party, military and government organs and the Cabinet, and the bereaved family members.
Anti-Japanese war veterans, Hwang Sun Hui, Kim Chol Man, Pak Kyong Suk and Ri Yong Suk, were also seen there.
A ceremony took place to start the funeral procession.
Before carrying out the coffin,
He came out of the funeral home together with the bereaved family members, following the marshal’s coffin.


Escorted by motorcycle outriders, the armoured car carrying the coffin left for the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt Taesong.
Tens of thousands of service personnel and people in Pyongyang lined the streets of the capital the hearse passed by to bid their last farewell to the late marshal, a faithful guard of the WPK and true son of the people.




They paid their last respect to Ri Ul Sol, recalling the life of the veteran revolutionary who had remained faithful to the Party and the leader single-mindedly and performed distinguished exploits for carrying out the Songun-based revolutionary cause.
A funeral service was held in a solemn atmosphere at the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt Taesong.
Supreme leader
KPA Vice Marshal Hwang Pyong So, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee and director of the KPA General Political Bureau, delivered a condolatory address.
The remains of the deceased were lowered amidst the playing of the dirge and the firing of a volley for the deceased.


A wreath bearing the name of Supreme Commander
Wreaths were also placed in the name of the WPK Central Committee and Central Military Commission, the DPRK National Defence Commission, the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People’s Assembly and the DPRK Cabinet.
Members of the state funeral committee, bereaved family members, officials of the Party, military and government organs and the Cabinet also paid silent tribute in memory of the deceased.
