Visit to Pyongyang Catfish Farm

Kim Jong Un, First Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, First Chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army, visited the Pyongyang Catfish Farm whose production has been put on a high scientific, intensive and industrial basis.

He  made  the  rounds  of  the newly built mosaic in the compound of the farm which depicts Chairman Kim Jong Il at the time of his visit to the farm and the monument to field guidance by the peerlessly great men of Mt Paektu.

He then looked around the newly built rooms dedicated to education in the revolutionary exploits of the great leaders and the history of the farm.

He toured different places of the farm including control centre, spawning ground, outdoor ponds and refrigerating chamber to inquire in detail about its production and renovation.

He highly praised the officials and other personnel of the relevant sector and the farm as they carried out the modernization project at the highest level, so that it can be a paradigm and a standard of fish farming.

He specified tasks to be tackled by the farm, saying that it should strive to attain a higher goal now that it has been turned into an exemplary standard unit in catfish farming.

He continued with great satisfaction; amidst the strong wind of bringing about an upswing in the drive to improve the people’s living standards sweeping the country, the Pyongyang Catfish Farm has been renovated and overfulfilled its production plan. This is a proud outcome which adds joy to our people in October, a significant month in our prosperous country.

He, in the name of the WPK, thanked the officials, scientists, technicians and workers of the relevant sector, farm and construction unit, who performed feats of labour in the production and renovation, stating that the farm also made a proud, miraculous achievement this year when stunning achievements have been made in succession in the country.

Noting that the WPK expects a great deal of the farm, he expressed expectations and conviction that the officials and other personnel of the farm would lead the country in the drive to implement the WPK’s policy with the buoyed ardour to greet the historic 7th Congress of the WPK with a high political enthusiasm and brilliant feats of labour, not content with the present achievements. He then had a photo session with them.
