WPK to Convene 7th Congress

Under the sophisticated leadership of Kim Il Sung, founder of the Party, and Kim Jong Il, eternal general secretary of the Party, the Workers’ Party of Korea developed into a Juche-based revolutionary party, an organization of the great Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, in which the uniformity and continuity of the leaders’ ideology and leadership are firmly ensured, and has played a role as an organizer and guide of all victories of the Korean people, according to a decision of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee on October 30.

The WPK is now faced with a heavy yet noble task of upholding the instructions of the great leaders, bringing about an upswing in the building of a thriving socialist nation and bringing earlier the final victory of the cause of the Juche revolution by enhancing the Party’s leadership role, led by Kim Jong Un, supreme leader of the Party and people, it noted.

“The Political Bureau of the Party Central Committee decides to hold the Seventh Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea in early May 2016, in representation of the requirements of the Party and revolutionary developments at a time when epoch-making changes are taking place in carrying out the cause of the Juche revolution and the cause of building a prosperous socialist nation,” the decision said.
