Joint Performance Enjoyed

Kim Jong Un, First Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, First Chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission and Supreme Commander of the Korean People’s Army, enjoyed a joint performance given by the State Merited Chorus and the Moranbong Band in celebration of the WPK’s 70th birthday.

Amidst the playing of welcome music he, together with Ri Sol Ju, appeared at the auditorium.

All the performers and audience raised thunderous cheers, extending the greatest honour and warmest thanks  to  supreme  leader Kim Jong Un who  has  developed  the  WPK  into  the  glorious  party  of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and is leading the country by dint of the soul and spirit of Paektu to display its might as a politico-ideological power, a military power and a great youth power.

The artistes of the chorus and the band, the first buglers of the Party’s ideological front, represented in a fresh and singular way the songs in praise of the era, the marches for final victory, as demanded by the Party and the revolution and aspired after by the people by displaying a revolutionary and militant spirit in their creative work. They depicted the most ardent and ennobling ideological feelings of the Korean people towards the WPK which has written the sacred 70-year history by bearing the destiny of the people and leading the Korean revolution under the leadership of the great comrades Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and Marshal Kim Jong Un.

The songs of solemn yet sweet melodies deeply moved the audience for they were run through with ardent admiration for and trust in the supreme leader of the Korean army and people who trust and follow him as the saviour of their destiny as he devotes himself solely for people’s happiness, always visiting them before anybody else and lending his ears to their simple opinion in his days of leading the Songun revolution.

The performance was highly praised by the audience as it pioneered a new stage of musical depiction through the combination of the Korean-style light music, orchestral music and various vocal items.

Kim Jong Un waved in acknowledgment of the cheering performers and audience and congratulated the entertainers on their successful performance.

He expressed his great satisfaction over the fact that the creative workers and artistes of the chorus and the band gave an excellent performance which pulsates with love and feelings of the motherly Party for the people and demonstrates conviction and commitment of all the service personnel and people who are determined to faithfully support the Party for ever generation after generation. He then posed for photographs with them.

He expressed his expectation and conviction that the performers would continue to proactively conduct the revolutionary and militant artistic activities, saying that the joint performance fully reflected the sacred 70-year history of the Party and that the creative workers and artistes are creditably performing their mission and duty they have assumed before the times.
