CPC Delegation Met

Kim Jong Un, First Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, First Chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission and Supreme Commander of the Korean People’s Army, met on October 9 the delegation of the Chinese Communist Party headed by Liu Yunshan, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau and member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, who is on an official, goodwill visit to the DPRK on the occasion of the 70th founding anniversary of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

From the Chinese side there were vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and director of the International Liaison Department of the CPC Central Committee, executive vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, executive vice-director of the Central Foreign Affairs Office of the CPC, vice-director of the General Political Department of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army, vice-director of the International Liaison Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Chinese ambassador to the DPRK and other members of the delegation.

From the Korean side there were Kim Ki Nam and Kim Yang Gon, secretaries of the Central Committee of the WPK.

Kim Jong Un received Liu Yunshan and other members of the Chinese delegation and had a cordial talk with them.

Liu Yunshan conveyed the warm greetings and letter to the Korean leader from Xi Jinping, the general secretary of the CPC Central Committee and the president of the People’s Republic of China.

The head of the Chinese delegation expressed thanks to Kim Jong Un for having met his delegation although he is busy with leading the drive to build his country into a thriving nation, and warmly congratulated the Central Committee and all members of the WPK and the Korean people that are greeting the 70th founding anniversary of the WPK upon authorization of the Central Committee of the CPC and its General Secretary Xi Jinping.

He noted that the WPK overcame manifold hardships, achieved the independence of the country and liberation of the people and gained noticeable achievements in the cause of the socialist revolution and construction of Korea by leading the Korean people under the leadership of President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il, the great leaders of the Korean people.

He said that the Chinese party, government and people take it earnestly delightful that the Korean people have recently achieved signal achievements in their efforts to develop the economy and improve their living standards and in various other fields by virtue of the leadership and organizational ability of  the  respected  First &nnbsp; Secretary  of  the  WPK Kim Jong Un who  implements   the  instructions  of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and the appeal of the WPK.

Adding that his delegation came to Korea with a mission to defend and add brilliance to the blood-sealed militant friendship of the parties, governments and peoples of China and the DPRK generation after generation and develop the bilateral relations of friendship and cooperation in political, economic, military, cultural and all other fields in every way onto a new, high stage, he continued that it is the steadfast policy of the Chinese party and government to invariably consolidate and develop the strategic Sino-DPRK friendship with glorious traditions.

Liu Yunshan said that the Chinese party and government will strive to admirably defend, consolidate and develop the strategic bilateral ties, so as to bring happiness to the two countries and peoples with the concerted efforts of their Korean counterparts, stressing that they attach special importance to the bilateral relations which were established and fostered by the leaders of older generation of the two parties and two countries.

He sincerely wished the Korean people would incessantly accomplish fresh and greater successes in their struggle to build a prosperous socialist country under the leadership of the WPK headed by Kim Jong Un.

Meanwhile, Kim Jong Un warmly welcomed the delegation’s visit and extended warm greetings to the central leadership body of the CPC with Xi Jinping as its general secretary and the Chinese people, noting that the dispatch of the CPC delegation led by Liu Yunshan to the celebrations of the 70th founding anniversary of the WPK by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and its general secretary Xi Jinping serves as a great inspiration to the WPK as well as the Korean army and people who are waging a dynamic struggle to build a thriving socialist nation,.

The Korean leader expressed his wish that the delegation’s visit to his country will be a significant visit in positively contributing to inheriting and developing the excellent traditional ties of the two parties and the two countries.

The DPRK-Sino relations have been strategic relations rooted in the traditions of friendship achieved by blood, not merely neighbourly relations, he said, adding that the greatest exploit and heritage related to external affairs which were bequeathed to the Korean people by Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il are also the DPRK-Sino friendship.

Kim Jong Il in his lifetime said that the DPRK-Sino friendship was a historic and strategic choice by the peoples of the two countries and he had made painstaking efforts to strengthen and develop the bilateral friendship even in the closing years of his life, the Korean leader noted.

Tradition should not be confined itself to recording in books or textbooks on history, but be inherited and glorified in practice, he said, adding that it is the steadfast will of the WPK and the Korean people to further consolidate and develop the traditional DPRK-Sino friendship down through generations.

Kim Jong Un expressed his conviction that the invincible vitality of the bilateral friendship, common wealth of the peoples of the two countries, would be more amply demonstrated by the efforts of both sides in the future.

He exchanged with the guests the views on the issue of boosting the bilateral relations and other matters of mutual concern.

The talk proceeded in a friendly and amicable atmosphere.

Liu presented a gift to Kim Jong Un.

The Korean leader expressed his thanks for that and posed for a photograph with all members of the Chinese delegation.
