Mausoleum of King Tangun
It is the tomb of King Tangun, founding father of the Korean nation. It was rebuilt on a large scale in October Juche 83 (1994) on a low hill at the foot of Mt. Taebak in Munhung-ri, Kangdong County, Pyongyang.
Covering an area of 45 hectares, Tte reconstructed mausoleum is divided into three sections; the central one with his tomb, that of the monument to reconstruction of the mausoleum and that of stone sculptures of his four sons, Puru, Puso, Puu and Puyo, and his close associates. Preserved in the burial chamber of the tomb is the glass coffin of Tangun and his wife enclosed by a wooden coffin.
