THREE PRINCIPLES OF NATIONAL REUNIFICATION

The basic principle of national reunification can be said to be the common action guideline to be maintained in the struggle for reunification.

In order to reunify the country all the nationals including workers, farmers and working intellectuals in the northern half of the country and workers, peasants, youth and students, intellectuals, petty bourgeoisies and national capitalists should join in the struggle for reunification and broad sections of people with different ideologies, ideals, political views and religious beliefs should realize great national unity under the banner of national reunification.

To this end, the basic principle of reunification should be provided to realize great national unity transcending the differences in ideology, ideal, political view and religious belief.

The great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung said:

“Reflecting the fundamental stand our Party had invariably maintained on the question of national reunification and the requirements of the rapidly-changing situation at home and abroad at the beginning of the 1970s, we advanced the three principles of independence, peaceful reunification and great national unity as the basic programme of national reunification.”

The basic principle and program of national reunification are the three principles of independence, peaceful reunification and great national unity elucidated by the great President.
